Okay sparring partners, I dare you to be more centric/balanced than I am! I’ve taken the political compass test several times over the years, and the results have been quite consistent. I think many of my friends and debate partners will find my relative position surprising. Here is the resulting chart after answering the 70 plus questions:
One question I am rethinking is this one, and how I answered:
Since in many ways, it’s the “poets” that make life worth living, I was inclined to not value them lower than those involved mainly in commerce. The problem is that you can’t easily sustain an artistic community of consequence without a highly functional economy. Clearly one provides the foundation for the other. If I took the test again, I might choose “Agree.”
What’s not considered on this test is a third axis, a “hawk vs dove” metric. I align with Clausewitz and am of the Political/Realist School. This (very) often puts me in conflict with the universal thinking in area code 206 that the Cataclysmic/pacifist school is where it’s at. File under “overcivilized.”
